Painting Genuine Light and Shadow in the Snow Scene
Painting snow can play tricks on the artist, especially when working from a photo. Since many artists prefer painting indoors when the white stuff is hanging around, or they live in an area that doesn’t experience much of it, photos unfortunately become the only source of reference for snow. Barbara will explain how to adapt limited information from a photo into a painting, and demonstrate how she achieves a genuine capture of light and shadow in her snow scenes.
